Bangalore, now officially known as Bengaluru, is the capital of Karnataka, India. It has evolved from a small settlement into a bustling metropolis and one of India’s leading tech hubs. 

Founded in 1537 by Kempegowda I, a feudal lord under the Vijayanagara Empire, who built a mud fort that laid the foundation for modern Bengaluru. Later ruled by the Mughals, Marathas, and eventually the Wodeyars of Mysore. Under British rule, it developed as a major military cantonment and became known for its pleasant climate. Post-independence, it grew rapidly, especially from the 1980s onward, and earned the title "Silicon Valley of India" due to the IT boom.
